The warfighters of the 305th Air Mobility Wing project power through global reach and agile maneuver, supporting combat operations, responding to contingencies, delivering humanitarian aid, and securing national defense objectives worldwide. Leveraging KC-46s and C-17s, and responsible for two of Air Mobility Command’s busiest aerial ports, the 305 AMW ensures the uninterrupted flow of forces and materiel to combatant commanders around the globe. Supporting the only tri-service joint base in the USAF, the Can Do! wing persistently builds and develops readiness by training and operating out of two geographically separated airfields, McGuire and Lakehurst, in AMC’s most complex airspace, while providing logistical support to the Joint Base community. This strategy is intended to provide all 305 AMW Airmen (which includes enlisted, officer, civilian, contractor, as well as our Joint and coalition partners within the wing) with clear guidance on where to focus energy and resources as we execute our mission, with well-defined priorities that ensure we meet our commitment to deter, and if required, to fight and win.

The 305th Air Mobility Wing will execute our mission while passionately developing and caring for all members of the 305 AMW and our families. We will continue to empower leaders at all levels and instill a warrior ethos within each member of the Can Do! wing to lead, innovate and win as the Air Force reoptimizes for Great Power Competition. The 305 AMW will focus our energy and resources based on three priorities: Resilient Airmen and Families, Relentless Innovation and ensuring we are Mission Ready Tonight. Resiliency, innovation and a warfighting mentality are critical components of being ready now to ensure we prevail in this decisive decade. Our driven, empowered warriors are our competitive edge — each member of the 305 AMW is critical to mission execution and the reason we will win.

We are the best Air Force in the world because of our Airmen and families, and resiliency is funda-mental to ensuring that we can face and overcome future challenges. Resilient Airmen, supported by resilient families and communities allow us to collectively achieve integrated deterrence and if required, to fight and win in conflict. Developing capacity to withstand, fight through, and recover quickly from disruptions provides a foundation for mission success, survivability and the capability to project power.

We will foster a warrior ethos rooted in dignity and respect to establish a culture of adaptability, mental and physical strength as we develop teams with a mission ready focus. We will connect the wing’s historical warrior ethos to the current framework to fortify mental, physical, and spiritual readiness and sharpen our craft. The wing will foster a coaching culture in and around the workplace as we work to develop our Airmen through formal professional development and local initiatives. We will provide peer-to-peer counseling opportunities and strengthen deliberate engagements with our service members, families and our communities. Every Airman must under-stand their contribution to the mission and the grave consequence for generations to come if they fail to perform at the highest level in their craft and as a team

The Profession of Arms is a family business and the 305 AMW will ensure we provide a platform for families to be heard, stay informed and have access to necessary resources alongside service members. Understanding the complex and often volatile environment that we live and operate in provides awareness of the consequences of not maintaining a warfighter focus and heightened mission readiness. Unclassified intelligence briefings will be provided at appropriate forums to ensure family members have the opportunity to learn about the threat we face. Command teams will strengthen and improve the quality and access to resources for our families and personnel. This includes leveraging our communities on and off the installation, which will benefit our fami-lies and provide inspiration to future generations that reside in these communities.

We serve in the greatest, most capable and lethal Air Force in the world, but that status is not as-sured in the future if we do not reoptimize now. In today’s volatile strategic landscape Airmen must develop creative solutions to increase survivability, adaptability, agility and lethality. Criti-cal thought is vital to innovation, but so is a culture of empowerment to lead, innovate and win. Leaders at all levels should promote the development of innovative ideas, technology and pro-cesses that lead to improvements and maximize effectiveness.

The 305 AMW will incorporate lessons learned and continuous process improvement into all aspects of the mission. The wing will optimize processes to capture, document, and share insights from training, exercises, operations and inspections. We will push the boundaries of what can be done today to become more lethal, more capable and more connected. The integration of lessons learned will emphasize deliberate engagement within and amongst units to improve as a collective entity. Just as the threat environment is constantly evolving, the need for capturing and utilizing lessons learned is enduring. As one team, the 305 AMW will use information and shared experiences to stay steps ahead of the threat and mission ready for a ‘fight tonight.’

Within the warrior ethos is a need to be innovative. Warriors must embrace a problem-solving and adaptive mindset with the courage to step outside of comfort zones, viewing each challenge as an opportunity for idea generation and view each outcome that falls short of expectations as a step towards successful innovation. Critical thought is a necessary component in striving for improvement as driven, empower Airmen. Command teams will seek to eliminate barriers that pre-vent an innovative culture, while also empowering competent Airmen to make decisions with smart risk-taking measures. Some risks will lead to unexpected outcomes, but they will also pro-vide valuable feedback for future endeavors and develop resilient Airmen along the way. All members of the Can Do! wing will seek process improvement to increase efficiencies, survivability, and agility.

In this era of Great Power Competition, the 305 AMW must be ready to project power at the speed and scale necessary to win. The volatile threat environment requires all of us to be mission ready now, as masters of our craft, and capable of contributing to mission success regardless of function or specialty. The 305 AMW must continue to improve and realistically train against the cur-rent threat environment while adapting to future requirements. With continual innovation and resilient practices, the Can Do! wing will excel, and ultimately win every challenge it faces … as a team.

The 305 AMW will develop and implement realistic high-end training, creating robust plans that opti¬mize and refine our mission essential tasks to expand warfighting capabilities. This applies to local flights, off-station trainers and large-scale exercises alongside the Joint Force and coalition partners. The 305 AMW will work to incorporate mobility forces into planning events at early stag-es to shape the desired learning objectives, maximize integration and provide warfighter connec-tivity. Each opera¬tor, maintainer, aerial porter and support personnel must maximize every oppor-tunity to prepare for a high-end fight. We must work together as an agile team, with invested own-ership in mission success and survivability. Training will be oriented to the pacing threat and members of the 305 AMW will re¬hearse to fight and win decisively.

The members of Can Do! wing must become more comfortable being uncomfortable as they push themselves to learn, grow in their craft, and develop as a team. In executing the mission today, developing a fail-forward mindset will enable Airmen to expand and improve on current skillsets. The 305 AMW will also continue to develop nuclear support capabilities to execute the nation’s highest-priority no-fail mission. As we continue to refine our ability to execute our primary mission, we will make deliberate efforts to develop the capability to connect with other platforms and entities to increase battlespace awareness and survivability. Agility, integration and connectivity are key in deterrence and will be paramount should we be called upon to fight and win.
